COLLABORATION
Leon Emanuel Blanck and RSRV explore an ancient Greek paradox, and deliver a mythological collaboration.
Leon Emanuel Blanck is a Berlin-based designer, sculptor, and prolific seeker of the profound in the mundane. Much like RSRV, his creations are a conversation between form and function.
For his AW25 apparel collection, Leon—contemplating his brand’s role in the larger fashion ecosystem—explored the Achilles paradox which involves a race between the mythological Greek warrior Achilles and a mere mortal tortoise. He reimagined the terms of the race and proffered that if Achilles utilized a physics-defying motorcycle, he could defeat the tortoise.
To celebrate the F25 line, Leon actually built that imaginary motorcycle (dubbed the ZENON ONE) and of course, he leaned on us as a partner in creating apparel that reflected the motorcycle’s form and function, and the design ethos that it explores.
Utilizing deadstock Alpinestars motorcycle suits, jackets, and gloves, Blanck has created a series of bespoke 1-of-1 garments that somehow simultaneously appear of this world and other. Panels, stitching, articulation, and trims have been rearranged and reassigned to create pants, jacket, boots, and a bag inspired by Alpinestars' race heritage but destined for paradoxical conquest.
The ZENON ONE motorcycle and accompanying RSRV X LEB capsule collection were debuted at an exclusive event during Paris Fashion Week, with the pieces being made available online.
