After winning Formula Renault 2.0 in 2008 and the British Formula 3 Championship in 2009, Daniel drove to runner-up position in the 2010 Formula Renault 3.5 Series.
Daniel then secured a drive as the Scuderia Toro Rosso test driver for both the 2010 and 2011 seasons before making his debut in Formula 1 in 2012.
Daniel signed for the Red Bull Racing Team in 2014, taking three wins at Montreal, Hungaroring, Spa-Francorchamps and five podiums, finishing the season in third position in the overall standings.
He repeated this feat 2016 before making the switch to the Renault F1 team in 2019.
