Matthias Walkner is a Rally Raid athlete and former MX3 and reigning FIM-Cross Country Rallies World Champion and the 2018 Dakar winner, he rides for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team.

Matthias Walkner grew up wanting to be a motorcycle rider and in 2002, at 16, he began to work in a motorcycle shop, developing his mechanical skills and understanding.
In 2004 Matthias became part of the KTM family, working initially as a test rider and finally winning the MX3 world title. Matthias then switched to Enduro before moving into rally raids. In 2015 Matthias won the FIM World Cross-Country Rallies Championship.
In 2017 Matthias finished the Dakar as runner-up and went one better in 2018, taking the coveted title on his KTM. He finished runner-up again in the 2019 Dakar.
