What body areas does the Tech-Air® Off-Road System protect?

The airbag provides CE Level 1 protection for the chest, back, shoulders, collarbones, and neck. The integrated Alpinestars Off-Road Protection Jacket adds CE Level 2 passive chest protection plus CE Level 1 passive armor on the back, elbows, and shoulders. This layered approach delivers comprehensive upper-body coverage for rally and enduro conditions.

Is the Tech-Air® Off-Road System FIM-certified for professional racing?

Yes, the Tech-Air® Off-Road System is FIM-homologated, meeting the strict safety standards required for professional rally and enduro competition. This certification confirms it has been tested and approved for use in FIM-sanctioned events, the same level of protection trusted by factory race teams.

Can I use the Tech-Air® Off-Road System with my existing riding gear?

The Tech-Air® Off-Road System is integrated with a specific Alpinestars Off-Road Protection Jacket that includes passive CE Level 2 chest and CE Level 1 back, elbow, and shoulder armor. The system is designed as a complete protection package and must be worn with the compatible Alpinestars protection jacket to ensure proper fit, coverage, and airbag deployment performance.

Developed in Dakar since 2017, the Tech-Air® Off-Road System is Alpinestars’ most advanced MX airbag system for off-road rally and enduro riding. FIM-homologated with CE Level 1 airbag coverage for the chest, back, shoulders, collarbones, and neck, it adds dual-charge inflators and ENDURO, RALLY, and STREET modes. Breathable stretch-mesh comfort, roost resistance, and an included 1.5–3L hydration bladder holder support long stages.

Dual-charge deployment: one inflator activates per event, preserving a backup for continued protection on long rides.
User-replaceable gas inflators: quick turnaround between rides (where local laws permit) without sending the unit in.
Self-contained sensor suite: integrated accelerometers and gyroscopes in the ECU for precise detection with no external sensors to install.

Gas inflator replacement
Tech-Air® 7x Systems now offer the capability for users to easily replace empty Gas Inflators by following the instructions provided in the User Manual, included in the Gas Inflators Replacement Kit.
